Who we are
Compare Padel Rackets (comparepadelrackets.com and padelracketsvergelijken.nl) is made by Jasper Stender. Questions about your data? Email padelracketvergelijken@gmail.com.
In short
- You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name or email address.
- We don't set cookies.
- We measure anonymously how the site is used.
- Messages to the coach are sent to Anthropic to generate an answer. We keep the conversations for 30 days to improve the coach.
- YouTube videos only load when you press play.
Site statistics
We use PostHog (servers in the EU) to see which pages are visited and which shop links are clicked: which shop, which racket and which price. We run PostHog without cookies or other browser storage and without automatically tracking every click.
We also make session recordings, so we can see where the site is unclear. A recording isn't a video of your screen but a rebuilt view of the page with your mouse movements, clicks and scrolling. Anything you type into fields is always hidden in recordings, and so are your conversations with the coach. If "Do Not Track" is on in your browser, we measure nothing and make no recordings.
PostHog does receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type. We only use it for statistics such as country and device. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site. We keep the statistics for at most one year and session recordings for at most 30 days.
The AI coach
When you ask the coach a question, your message and the earlier conversation are sent to our server and to Anthropic, the maker of the Claude language model, which generates the answer. Anthropic is based in the United States. The transfer is covered by the safeguards in its data processing terms, and under its terms this data is not used to train models.
We keep your conversations with the coach for 30 days at PostHog (servers in the EU), so we can read back which questions people ask and where the coach falls short. This covers your questions, the coach's answers and the rackets it looked up. Email addresses, phone numbers and IBANs are removed automatically before they are stored. A conversation is tied to a random code and to the session recording of your visit, not to your name. After 30 days PostHog deletes the content; only technical figures remain, such as how fast the answer came. If "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" is on in your browser, we don't keep your conversations. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the coach.
Your conversations are also kept in your own browser (local storage) so you can see them again later. You can delete them there yourself. Please don't share personal details in the chat: the coach doesn't need them.
To prevent abuse we count how many messages a visitor sends. For this we turn your IP address into a hashed code, so no readable IP address. We keep that code for about a day (at Upstash) and pass it to Anthropic for its abuse detection. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the coach and preventing abuse.
Hosting
The site runs on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel processes your IP address and technical data to deliver pages and block attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
YouTube videos
Racket pages show review videos from YouTube, which we find with the YouTube API Services. Until you press play, your browser doesn't connect to YouTube: we fetch the preview image through our own server. When you press play, we load YouTube's (Google's) player from youtube-nocookie.com. Google then receives your IP address and technical data, may store cookies or other data in your browser, and may process data outside the EU. That falls under Google's privacy policy. Playing a video is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. So we only load YouTube when you choose to.
Storage in your browser
We don't set cookies ourselves. If you play a YouTube video, YouTube may (see above). In your browser's local storage we only keep your comparison list and your conversations with the coach. That data stays on your own device, except for the messages you send to the coach yourself.
Links to shops
When you click a shop link, you go to that shop's site, often through an affiliate network such as Awin, CJ, Adtraction, TradeTracker or the bol Partner Programme. The shop or network may then set cookies to record that you came from us. That falls under their own privacy policy. We only receive an overview of sales and commission, without names or addresses.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell data. We only share it with the services above (Vercel, PostHog, Anthropic and Upstash), which process it on our behalf. If you play a YouTube video, Google receives data directly from your browser.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Because we don't know names or accounts, we usually can't link anything to you personally, but feel free to email us. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If anything changes in how we process data, we update this page. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
